We had good fun today designing, planning and making our own maracas. We used lots of different types of containers along with pasta, rice and marrowfat peas. We found that the following things affected the sound of our Maracas, e.g. 1. The material the container was made from e.g. cardboard, glass or plastic, 2. The Shape & size of the container, for example is plastic a better container than glass?, 3. Does it matter what we use to fill our containers? Which is better, pasta, rice or marrowfat peas. 4. Does the amount if filling affect the sound made?
We had good fun working in various different groups, deciding why we chose a bottle over a jar or a printed tube etc.
