Stations with Ms. Kelly and Ms. Mc Tiernan
Today during stations, Junior Infants continued to focus on their phonics skills through a variety of fun and engaging activities. They practised recognising letter sounds and actions, as well as blending sounds together to read simple three-letter words.
The children also enjoyed matching sounds to words and pictures, helping to strengthen their early reading skills and build confidence in identifying and using familiar sounds and words independently.
We also explored word families and practised spelling and writing simple three-letter rhyming words. Using their phonics knowledge, the children sounded out and blended words independently, helping them to recognise patterns in words and build confidence in their reading and spelling skills.
Through a range of fun activities, the children enjoyed discovering rhyming words and using their phonics skills to write and spell new words correctly.
Senior Infants focused on their Tricky Words through a range of fun and engaging activities. The children practised identifying and reading their tricky words during games and interactive tasks, helping to build confidence and fluency in their early reading skills.
They also completed written and colouring exercises to reinforce their learning in an enjoyable and creative way. The children worked very hard and had great fun practising their tricky words throughout the session.
A big thank you to Ms.Kelly and Ms. McTiernan for helping us out today.
